The Horses

Intuitive Horse is run by Emma and Cameron Ross. They live on their beautiful 110 acre farm in Hastings with their son and alongside the Intuitive Horse herd of horses, ponies, and donkeys. Intuitive Horse is a vegan, re-wilding equine project, they are slowly re-wilding the land and the equines as much as possible. The horses are not ridden ever, and live together as a semi wild healing herd. When Emma practices EAPD the horses choose if they want to participate or not. Read more about Intuitive Horse here

What is Equine Assisted Personal Development?

Equine assisted Personal Development is a therapeutic coaching style specific to Intuitive Horse that facilitates a safe space for people to explore and find their own answers to their personal challenges. Just being with the horses in a guided way, whilst allowing them to simply be themselves without any human imposed demands (no riding or labour) allows us the unique opportunity to see ourselves as they see us. We can’t disguise our true feelings from the horses. As herd animals and prey animals they are highly sensitive, and instinctively wired to read and respond to each other for survival and in this way they read and respond to us, and reflect back our most subtle queues, enabling us to see parts of ourselves in a new light that we may be unaware or afraid of.

Emma is a coach and facilitator in personal development. She has been around horses for over 30 years. She holds a very safe space even for people who are very nervous of horses, it is as if she acts as interpreter between human and equine to help us feel incredibly safe, and to get the absolute most out of our Intuitive Horse experiences. You can read more about Emma here

The Yoga

Depending on numbers and the weather the yoga, pranayama and meditation sessions will take place either in the cozy heated barn alongside a roaring wood burning stove, in one of the Bell Tents, or out in the fields if the weather is warm. Note we won’t practice in the same field as the horses but we will be able to see them.

The yoga will be led by Janice Kate who runs Light Yoga Space and is a body positive yoga teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience. You can find out more about Janice and about Sivananda yoga by exploring our website here
